Rishi A. Roy
Rishi A. Roy has more than fifteen years of surgical experience and specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the arteries and veins. He provides advanced care for peripheral artery disease, aneurysms, varicose veins, and other vascular disorders. Dr. Roy offers high-quality vascular care at the Singing River Center for Cardiovascular Surgery, located within the new Singing River Cardiology Center in Pascagoula.
Dr. Roy earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and completed medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
His surgical training began with a general surgery residency at UMMC, where he received multiple honors, including the University of Mississippi School of Medicine’s Most Outstanding Resident Teacher Award, the Department of Surgery’s Resident Teaching Award, and the Robert S. Caldwell Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Resident of the Year. He went on to complete a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at UVA Health System in Charlottesville, returning to his alma mater to further refine his expertise.
Following fellowship, Dr. Roy served as a vascular surgeon at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson for five years before founding his own private practice.
He is also a published contributor to the 9th and 10th editions of Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, co-authoring a chapter on aortoiliac aneurysms in this leading textbook.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Roy has a longstanding commitment to public service and leadership. He served as class president for all four years of medical school and held the role of Administrative Chief Resident during his training. He has represented his peers on various councils focused on quality, accreditation, and patient experience. Passionate about civic engagement, Dr. Roy co-founded Mississippi Youth and Government, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching democracy to young people. He currently serves on the boards of Lead Mississippi: Youth Legislature Program, the Mississippi Museum of Art, and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.
